A former New York Jets draft pick will look to revive his career with the Miami Dolphins in 2026.
The Dolphins announced on Friday that they have signed former Jets tight end Zack Kuntz to a futures contract.
This is the fourth futures deal for the Dolphins under new general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan, who has also signed wide receiver Terrace Marshall Jr., linebacker Seth Coleman and safety Omar Brown.
A seventh-round pick of the Jets in 2023, Kuntz has appeared in two games during his career and has only played three offensive snaps and 10 special teams snaps while spending all of his time on the practice squad.
Kuntz failed to make the Jets' 53-man roster again in 2025, but this time he was not brought back on the practice squad after cutdown day and never latched on with another team the rest of the season.
Miami is an ideal landing spot for Kuntz.
Darren Waller, Greg Dulcich and Julian Hill are all pending free agents and the Dolphins only have Jalin Conyers under contract.
That said, given his history and the fact that the Dolphins will certainly add to the position during the offseason, Kuntz still faces an uphill climb in making the Dolphins' 53-man roster.
