The Los Angeles Dodgers win at everything they do, including trades.
Like the deal last year that landed them James Tibbs III from the Boston Red Sox for Dustin May.
May, who even at the time of the trade seemed like he probably was washed up, proved to be not worth what Boston paid to get him.
Tibbs is ranked by MLB Pipeline as the No. 8 prospect in the Dodgers' organization, and he's having a huge spring.
This spring, Tibbs has an OPS over 1.100, and it's no fluke.
How many trades this decade had a worse process then James Tibbs for half a year of Dustin May https://t.co/K6m2L3K0UG

The advanced metrics really support the idea of Tibbs as a quality major league hitter.
James Tibbs III was traded twice, and of course he is now on the Dodgers. Power profile is legit. Spring training data, so all the usual caveats, but a lot of gold on this profile. pic.twitter.com/moF2qE20tb
— Eli Ben-Porat 🇨🇦 (@EliBenPorat) March 17, 2026His latest home run came in an exhibition game against the Angels, and it proved that Tibbs' power isn't just to the pull side. This was hit to the biggest part of the ballpark:

— MLB (@MLB) March 23, 2026The Dodgers are loaded, so Tibbs may have to wait his turn.
But clearly, Tibbs has a bright future ahead of him. Much brighter than the half season the Red Sox got out of Dustin May.
