The Syracuse Orange will be awaiting one roster decision in particular this offseason.
Donnie Freeman has spent two seasons at SU and likely has every option in front of him, including the NBA or the transfer portal.
What will Freeman actually choose? That remains to be seen.
It will likely depend in part on his feelings about new head coach Gerry McNamara. G-Mac was on the SU staff when Freeman was being recruited, but he wasn't the main recruiter for Freeman.
McNamara will likely bring some of his own ways of doing things, but he was also brought up under Jim Boeheim, just like Adrian Autry, so many things might at least resemble the way Freeman is already used to them at Syracuse.
Freeman could potentially go into the NBA Draft, where he'd have a decent chance to get drafted.

The 6-foot-9 forward is coming off a season in which he averaged 16.5 points and 7.2 rebounds per game. His length, athleticism and scoring instincts give him the potential to be a contributor at the next level.
Freeman missed time in both his freshman and sophomore seasons at Syracuse with injury, so any drafting team would want to feel comfortable with Freeman's medical records, too.
There's also the transfer portal option. If Freeman doesn't feel good about his draft stock, and if he doesn't feel great about McNamara, he could look to go elsewhere.
If Freeman enters the portal, he'll be one of the most sought after transfers in the country.
Syracuse certainly would benefit from keeping the former five-star recruit. But only in the weeks ahead will that start to play itself out.
