Dodgers reportedly expected to have $58M postseason heroes trio for playoffs after injuries

The Los Angeles Dodgers are looking to win three consecutive World Series championships, which is going to be very hard to do. The team has battled through highs and lows all season, but over the last month, it has been all about the injury bug.

The first name to fall victim to the injury bug in late August was Andy Pages, who was hit in the hand by a pitch.

“Los Angeles Dodgers All-Star Andy Pages fractured his left hand after being hit by a pitch during Friday night's 5-4 win over the visiting Pittsburgh Pirates. The center fielder was struck on the back of his hand by a pitch from Bubba Chandler in the third inning and took first base. He advanced to third before the inning ended. Pages was replaced by Enrique Hernandez to start the fifth,” ESPN wrote.

Next might have been the biggest injury of the season, as Shohei Ohtani was placed on the injured list.

“The Dodgers are placing Shohei Ohtani on the injured list. He must go on the 15-day IL as a two-way player. The earliest he can return is Sept. 23. The wild-card round starts Sept. 29. The NLDS would start Oct. 3. Josue De Paula will likely replace Ohtani as the everyday DH,” Dodgers reporter Noah Camras wrote.

With the playoffs not too far away for LA, it is now being reported that Roki Sasaki, Ohtani, and Pages are all going to be back for the playoffs.

“Per the Dodgers transaction page, Andy Pages and Roki Sasaki have officially been activated from the IL, while Emmet Sheehan and Eliezer Alfonzo were optioned. And if Shohei Ohtani is activated tomorrow as expected, Freeland would presumably be the corresponding move,” Dodgers Beat’s Cody Snavely wrote.

This is wonderful news for the Dodgers, as they are going to get back some of their main guys. It can’t be forgotten that Sasaki had some major heroics during the postseason last year, becoming the team’s closer.

Ohtani, Pages, and Sasaki have made $58 million in their careers combined. LA is excited to have its guys back at the end of the season as the team gets ready for the playoffs and hopes to complete an historic feat.
