Dodgers get 'A' grade for offseason to further frustrate all of MLB

The Los Angeles Dodgers have won back-to-back World Series titles, both over an AL East team in the New York Yankees and the Toronto Blue Jays.

But, after such great seasons, the Dodgers aren't slowing down. This offseason, they added Kyle Tucker and Edwin Diaz on blockbuster deals, and look to be the favorites for the World Series once again.

ESPN's David Schoenfield handed out grades for every team's offseason, and he gave the Dodgers an "A," which will, of course, frustrate fans all across Major League Baseball.

Dodgers get 'A' graded offseason after getting better and cheaper

The Dodgers came into the offseason with two major holes at the closer spot and in left field. What did the Dodgers do to resolve those holes? They signed Kyle Tucker and Edwin Diaz, the best available players at both positions, to better an already great team.

But it doesn't stop there. The Dodgers also brought back Kike Hernandez and Miguel Rojas, two World Series heroes, along with Evan Phillips, on a reasonable deal as well.

"All that and the Dodgers payroll is still down about $1 million from 2025, according to FanGraphs. Geez," Schoenfield writes, "imagine if they tried a little harder to win."

The Dodgers not only resolved the two needs they had this offseason, but also brought back fan favorites for another World Series push, and they did so while getting cheaper.

Of course, the Dodgers will eventually foot the enormous bill down the road, but for now, the Dodgers are World Series favorites, and their offseason is more than deserving of this "A" grade.

The Detroit Tigers and Boston Red Sox also received "A" grades this offseason, but compared to the Dodgers, those two teams are still much further from a World Series than the Dodgers are.

The rich got richer; if that doesn't deserve an "A" grade, there wouldn't be one this offseason. And as the Dodgers improve their team in a big way, the rest of MLB grumbles in frustration over their dwindling World Series chances.
