The Los Angeles Dodgers are making a change with their minor league pitching depth.
There are far too many arms battling for Major League roster spots, and the 26-year-old was not showing enough to stick around in the organization.
According to his MLB.com transaction log, right-hander Nick Nastrini was released by the Dodgers on Thursday. He was a fourth-round draft pick by the Dodgers in 2021, but was traded to the Chicago White Sox near the deadline in 2023.
"Nastrini has not appeared in the majors since September 2024. He started the 2025 season down at Triple-A Charlotte," Leo Morgenstern of MLB Trade Rumors wrote.
"The Marlins and then the Dodgers claimed him off waivers in quick succession last July, and he finished the 2025 Triple-A season with an 8.56 ERA in 47.1 innings for three organizations."

Nastrini made his Major League debut with the White Sox in 2024, making starts in eight of his nine outings. The results were less than pretty, as he allowed 28 earned runs and walked 36 batters compared to just 26 strikeouts in 35.2 innings.
Improving his command will play a significant role in his path back to the big leagues.
