With three games to go in this year's NBA season, the Los Angeles Lakers will travel upstate to visit the Golden State Warriors.
This year, the Lakers have clinched a playoff berth for the fourth straight season. They are guaranteed a top-5 seed and finish the season as high as No. 3 in a loaded Western Conference. While decimated by injuries throughout the year, the Warriors have still clinched a Play-In appearance. Golden State is most likely locked into the No. 10 seed and will be battling from the bottom of the Play-In teams to vie for one of the final eight playoff spots in the West.
The Lakers will be without Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves for this game, as both L.A. stars are unavailable for weeks due to injury. Doncic has headed to Europe to undergo treatment for his left hamstring sprain. Reaves, who has been the Lakers' second leading scorer, will be out four to six weeks with an oblique strain. Unfortunately for the City of Angels, they may be without their two top scorers once playoff basketball begins.
Golden State's star Steph Curry looks to play against the Lakers after returning to play after a lengthy knee injury. The Warriors will need their longtime man in order to have any hopes of qualifying to these 2026 playoffs. With his injury and Jimmy Butler's season-ending torn ACL, Brandin Podziemski has been the next man up, and the third-year player has averaged 13.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 3.8 assists, while shooting 45.4% from the field and 36.9% from beyond the arc.
