DK Metcalf found himself in trouble after an altercation with a fan during the Pittsburgh Steelers' 29-24 victory over the Detroit Lions on Sunday. The NFL has decided to suspend the wide receiver for two games.
This means that Metcalf will not be available for the Steelers' remaining two games of the regular season against the Browns and the Ravens. However, this is not the only setback for him. As per CBS Sports, this suspension voids $45 million in future guaranteed money for the two-time Pro Bowler.
"The two-game suspension for what the NFL terms 'conduct detrimental' to the league now voids at least $45 million future guaranteed money for the Pittsburgh Steelers receiver," CBS Sports reporter Jonathan Jones wrote.•

According to reports, DK Metcalf got into a physical altercation with a fan after he allegedly used racial slurs and made derogatory comments about his mother. It was also confirmed that the wide receiver had notified security about this particular fan before.
However, while speaking with the Detroit Free Press, this fan, called Ryan Kennedy, denied these allegations, stating that Metcalf got physical after he had decided to use his government name.
"I called him that, and then he grabbed me and ripped my shirt," Kennedy said. "I'm a little shocked. Like everyone's talking to me. I'm a little rattled, but I just want the Lions to win, baby."The Steelers ended up securing a 29-24 victory over the Lions. Metcalf recorded 42 receiving yards on four receptions.
Ex-NFL star Cam Newton gets honest about DK Metcalf's punching controversy
On Monday, on ESPN's "First Take," Cam Newton shared his unfiltered take on the controversy surrounding DK Metcalf punching a fan.
He criticized how fans can get away with anything and urged for better security to prevent such incidents.
"I've been in those shoes," Newton said. "A line is drawn from a humansitic side that you can't say that. Do I know what happened? Do I what took place for DK to react how he did? No. "But I've always stood on this principle, no matter the league, ... I think we need to bolster the protection because fans are able to do whatever and just fall ball on the thought of, this is fandom. ... I think as leagues, we do need and we owe a responsibility so that these won't happen moving forward."This season, DK Metcalf has tallied 850 yards and six TDs receiving.
The Steelers next face the Browns on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
