The next Premium Live Event for the company is Royal Rumble 2026, scheduled for January 31, 2026, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. WWE is expected to announce a rubber match between McIntyre and Rhodes for this PLE.

However, if WWE has other plans for Rhodes and Drew for Royal Rumble 2026, the first episode of SmackDown in 2026 might be the ideal place. Already, CM Punk is set to defend his World Heavyweight Championship against Bron Breakker in the first show of Monday Night RAW in 2026.

So a similar pattern could be followed by the Triple H-led promotion for the Cody vs Drew feud on the blue brand. The rubber match will serve as a fitting opportunity for the latter to seek revenge for his previous losses.
