Diablo 4 Season 11 has been a pretty exciting one, and while one or two classes feel like they’ve dominated the meta, almost every class has had something to be excited about. The only class I think I’ve seen almost nothing of in my time in Season 11 is the Rogue. They just feel underrepresented, but maybe when The Tower comes out, we’ll see something different.
Paladin is currently flavor of the month thanks to its recent release, and many of its builds are the most powerful in the game right now. That said, I’m going to talk about what the most popular builds for each class in Diablo 4 Season 11 are, based on my thoughts, the current meta tier, and what I’ve seen in-game.
What have been the most popular builds for each Diablo 4 Season 11 class?
1) Barbarian
HOTA, no matter the variation, seems to be on top of the Barbarian heap in D4 (Image via Blizzard Entertainment)When it comes to Barbarians in Diablo 4 Season 11, it seems to me that the most popular, most powerful build has to be the HOTA Barbarian. It comes in a variety of flavors and variations, but is ultimately about making tons of Earthquakes, and using HOTA (Hammer of the Ancients) to blast through them for tons of damage.
It’s a pretty easy build to play, but can require a lot of gear and affixes. That’s really the only major downside to it. It’s also the only class that really seems to want Melted Heart of Selig, and in fact, the most ideal loadout will be to have that item equipped, and Sanctify another piece that also has the Melted Heart passive on it. It’s the most powerful build, but it can be a pain to really get going.
2) Druid
Hands down, it's all about poison puddle parties (Image via Blizzard Entertainment)While Companion Druid is doing quite well, I think Pulverize is likely the most popular build, at least, in the handful of Druids I’ve seen in Diablo 4 Season 11. Non-Paladin classes show up, just not as often as I’d like them to. Pulverize stands the test of time as the most powerful Druid build, thanks to Rotting Lightbringer.
Smashing the ground with huge poison puddles and doing tons of damage is just satisfying. I also think Boulder Druid is doing well this season too, but it’s just not quite as high up on the tier list in this meta.
3) Necromancer
Shadowblight procs are powerful, but you have to get rid of your undead pals (Image via Blizzard Entertainment)Necromancer is definitely my favorite non-Paladin class in Diablo 4, Season 11 just hasn’t been very kind to it. There’s only a few meta picks, and I think I see Shadowblight Necromancer more than Blood Wave. Shadowblight’s arguably easier to play, I think, and while I’m not crazy about either build, I can’t deny their strength.
Shadowblight’s not the fastest build, but it’s incredible at soloing content, and doesn’t require any Uniques to start playing, so I think that’s going to make it one of the most popular meta builds in D4 Season 11 for Necro players. Sadly, the new Golem build isn’t on top (but it is fun).
4) Rogue
Rogues have lots of choices, but I think Heartseeker's going to win out this season (Image via Blizzard Entertainment)There are quite a few amazing high-tier Rogue picks for Diablo 4 Season 11, but I just don’t really see them in the world that often. I see more people using Rune Combos that imitate Rogue abilities, than I see actual Rogues. I think Heartseeker’s probably the most likely build you’re going to see, and probably the most powerful.
I also base this on the ease of use, and the straight-forward nature of the build. You use Heartseeker to blast through enemies, and have a pretty simple rotation of utility powers to keep yourself safe, and moving fast. Plus, it’s just fun.
5) Paladin
Paladins are truly spoiled for choice right now, which does worry me for Season 12. However, that’s a future me problem. Diablo 4 Season 11 Paladins have so many amazing builds, but I think I see Blessed Hammer the most, despite preferring Zealadin builds. Blessed Hammer is a throwback to Diablo 2, and is remarkably easy to play.
Ideally it does load out with tons of Mythic Uniques and a handful of regular Uniques, but that doesn’t stop it from being the number one pick. You get to run around at incredibly high speeds, and watch as your spinning hammers obliterate the forces of evil. What’s not to like?
6) Sorcerer
Crackling Energy is the only Sorcerer build I seem to see when playing in Diablo 4 Season 11, and it’s not hard to see why. Thanks to Esadora’s Overflowing Cameo and the incredible new Unique Orsivane, you deal overwhelming damage, at the cost of using any fewer, if any, defensive buttons.
They get a mountain of free enchantment abilities, and a huge amount of extra damage, so they don’t need cooldowns. It’s such a powerful build, and if you want to shred enemies, it’s the most meta, most popular pick to do so in D4 right now. However, you need Esadora’s Overflowing Cameo at the very least. Other items like the Ring of Starless Skies, Galvanic Azurite, and Temerity will also be pleasant bonuses to make it work smoother.
7) Spiritborn
While Beast Strike Spiritborn seems to be pretty fun, the Spiritborn I’ve talked to in game all seem to prefer Evade Spiritborn as the number one pick. It does have some pretty stringent requirements to make it work, and you need to know how Evade Weaving works. However, there’s a build that lets you just spam Evade so that’s not an issue either.
This build is about Evading all the time with a high Evade CDR, and flooding the screen with Storm Feathers. It feels like it’s a kind of complicated build to get the hang of, but it’s wildly powerful, fast, and most importantly, safe.
