Diablo 4 Season 11: How to upgrade Divine Gifts (and what they do)

Diablo 4 Season 11’s Divine Gifts offer you the ability to enhance your rewards from completing specific content and upgrading them confers greater rewards still. It’s certainly a different type of seasonal borrowed power, because it doesn’t give you new special attacks, or passives that trigger whenever you move around. Instead, they give you rewards for doing things in-game, and, depending on what slot they’re put into, make content harder.

It’s honestly not too hard to upgrade Divine Gifts in Diablo 4, but it is going to feel tedious. Depending on the content in question, it can also feel incredibly slow. Nonetheless, it’s worth doing because it can make some of your other grinds, like farming Uniques a little bit faster.

How to upgrade Divine Gifts in Diablo 4

If you want to upgrade Divine Gifts in Diablo 4, you need to grind particular activities, depending on the Divine Gift. The short answer is to just keep doing whatever activity you fought the Lesser Evil boss at, over and over, until you rank up. Defeating the Lesser Evil bosses will drop items that increase your rank by 1 point.

For example, defeating Azmodan in Hawezar will drop Sinful Memories. Picking these up will increase your rank with both of his Divine Gifts. At least you don’t have to actually summon Azmodan to get these. If you’re just waiting around and someone summons him, as long as you take part, you can loot this item. You don’t have to open any of the chests, he’ll drop them when he dies.

You just have to keep taking part in these events until you reach the next rank. You can see it in the Divine Gifts section of your menu, so it’s easy to see how far you have to go. Below are the activities you need to do to grind up these ranks:

  • Andariel in The Undercity.
  • Azmodan in Hawezar.
  • Duriel in Helltides.
  • Belial in The Pit.
