Diablo 4: Best Blessed Hammer Paladin build

Blessed Hammer Paladin is such a fun way to blast through Diablo 4 maps. Season 11 added the Paladin to the game, provided you purchased the Lord of Hatred expansion ahead of its 2026 launch, and with it came a swarm of incredibly powerful new builds. While time will tell if they all get nerfed into the ground, that’s a Season 12 problem. Right now, there are plenty of amazing, fast builds, and this is one of them.

You do need a few Uniques to make it really go, but Diablo 4’s Blessed Hammer Paladin build is such a good time. You zoom through maps, smashing everything in your path, as a hammer spins around you. The best part is thanks to one of the new Uniques, you can trigger it automatically as you move!

How does a Blessed Hammer Paladin build work in Diablo 4?

Blessed Hammer Paladin is an incredibly easy build to play in Diablo 4. Blessed Hammer is a power that rotates around you, dealing damage to anything it comes into contact with. Thanks to the Disciple’s Halo talent, it follows you where you move, dealing greater damage on top of that.

That allows us to blaze through maps at lightning speed, smashing enemies into dust with raw holy power. You need a few other powers though, since this is an Arbiter Form build. You want Falling Star to move/activate the form, as well as Condemn to keep the form up as long as possible.

You use Fanaticism Aura, Defiance Aura, and Rally off cooldown as well, for buffs, movement speed, and more damage/defenses. Condemn pulls your targets in and makes it easier to hit them, and Advance to help you get around. It’s a very easy build to run.

Ideal Rotation

  • Spam Blessed Hammer as your main source of damage.
  • Alternate between Falling Star and Condemn to get into/stay in Arbiter Form as long as possible.
  • Evade in Arbiter Form auto-casts Blessed Hammer (with Argent Veil equipped) so do this constantly.
  • Pop Defiance/Fanaticism/Rally off cooldown.
  • Condemn to reel in enemies.

The only thing you may want to do is use Advance/Rally in the early going to restore your resources, and heal it back with Consecration (unless you have enough Life Restore on your gear). If you’re already well geared, this won’t be an issue.

You need the following abilities on your hotbar

  • Blessed Hammer
  • Advance/Rally (Rally in the early going, Advance when you’re better geared)
  • Falling Star
  • Defiance Aura
  • Fanaticism Aura
  • Condemn

Ideal talents and Oath for a Blessed Hammer Paladin build in Diablo 4

Below we’ve gone over all the talents you need for a Blessed Hammer Paladin build in Diablo 4. We’re only putting extra points into two of our major talents, and that’s Blessed Hammer and Fanaticism Aura.

Pretty much everything else is in the suite of amazing Paladin passives. Though we pick Arbiter of Justice as an ultimate, it’s not on our hotbars. It’s mostly there just for the bonuses for the Arbiter Form.

As far as our Oath goes, you can probably guess that we’re picking Disciple. Blessed Hammer Paladins in Diablo 4 rely on Arbiter Form for extra damage, movement, and auto-casts of Blessed Hammer, so it’s pretty important to the build. I can’t think of anything else that comes close.

Who is the best Mercenary for a Blessed Hammer Paladin in Diablo 4?

If you have the Vessel of Hatred expansion, you can take advantage of the Mercenary system, which I highly recommend. If you’re going to run Mercenaries, you want to go with Varyana and Aldkin as backup. Paladins don’t need Raheir’s tankiness, we need more damage and healing.

Varyana’s picks

  • Cleave
  • Recklessness
  • Whirlwind
  • Taste of Flesh

Aldkin pick

  • Field of Languish + any skill in combat

Ideal equipment, Legendary Aspects, and Tempers

As a Blessed Hammer Paladin in Diablo 4, you’re going to want quite a few Uniques in your build. As far as hard recommends, Argent Veil is practically a requirement. You also want Herald’s Morningstar (more Blessed Hammer damage) and Herald of Zakarum (Ranks to Core Skills, incredible shield).

Below, we’re going to go over the Aspects, Ideal Tempers, and Uniques you want. Of course, in the late game, consider Ring of Starless Skies, Heir of Perdition, and Shroud of False Death as Mythic Uniques to pick up.

The only downside to gearing a Paladin is that almost all of its Legendary Aspects come from gear. That includes one of the most important ones, Ascension.

Paragon Boards for a Blessed Hammer Paladin in Diablo 4

It’s incredibly easy to level up your Glyphs as a Blessed Hammer Paladin if you’re on the Season 11 servers. Leveling up the Belial Divine Gifts guarantees you level bonuses on your Glyphs, so it’s worth really grinding The Pit. Below are all the points we spend, and how many rotations of the boards we do. It’s important to at least follow the rotations, so you have easy access to everything you need.
