The San Antonio Spurs remained undefeated in Thursday's 107-101 win over the Miami Heat, delivering another dominant performance and setting a franchise record in the process.
For the first time in franchise history, San Antonio has started the regular season 5-0. Despite star point guard De’Aaron Fox still sidelined due to a right hamstring strain, the Spurs are starting the campaign with something to prove.
Now, they'll look to make significant noise in the West after a challenging rebuilding stretch.

Spurs' Devin Vassell ‘tired of losing’
While the Western Conference is stacked, the Spurs appear poised to end their six-year playoff drought with All-Star center Victor Wembanyama leading the way. Postgame, Devin Vassell spoke about the team's struggles throughout his career, and what has driven San Antonio's hot start.
“Tired of losing,” he said. “Been here for a long time and it's been a journey, I can say that, but just tired of losing.”

— JeffGSpursKENS5 (@JeffGSpursZone) October 31, 2025Vassell finished as San Antonio's third-leading scorer in Thursday's victory, posting 17 points, nine rebounds, one assist and one steal on 6-of-16 shooting over 37 minutes. The 25-year-old forward has been a key part of the Spurs’ success, averaging 16.8 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.4 steals per game so far.
Selected with the 11th overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, Vassell is the Spurs’ second-longest-tenured player behind Keldon Johnson. The Spurs have yet to win more than 34 regular-season games with Vassell on the roster, though that seems certain to change this season given the team's strong start.
