The Toronto Blue Jays are in a happy mood as they head for home on the cusp of a first World Series title since 1993. They beat the Los Angeles Dodgers twice in LA to take a 3-2 lead in the series ahead of Game 6 on Friday.

The high spirits spilled over to social media as Toronto reliever Yariel Rodriguez's wife, Gaby Rodriguez, took to Instagram to make a lighthearted yet pointed farewell to the city of Los Angeles. In the picture, Gaby could be seen wearing a black hoodie with the #29, her husband's number. She paired with a Blue Jays cap as people could be seen behind her at LAX.

"Me all over LA airport," she wrote in Spanish.

Yariel Rodriguez hasn't been able to make the World Series roster, but has been part of the traveling contingent of the Blue Jays. Despite his absence, he and his family, his wife Gaby and son Harold, remain fiercely supportive of the team to take the final step to victory. After the Game 5 win on Wednesday, Gaby posted a story celebrating their win with a three-word caption:

"Let's win this."

Yariel Rodriguez took the unconventional path of making it to the MLB after featuring in the Cuban and Japanese leagues. His debut last season with the Blue Jays was a huge personal achievement, and winning a World Series ring in just his second year would be the icing on the cake.

That sentiment is shared by Gaby, who has been a constant support for her husband. The couple got married in February 2024 after a couple of months of being engaged.

Gaby Rodriguez shares golden lesson that highlights humility

In a subsequent story on her Instagram, Gaby Rodriguez shared a heartfelt message on Friday that characterized her approach towards their life. The post, in Spanish, translates to:

"You can have a kilo of gold and someone arrives with a kilo of humility, and shines more than you. Is there anything else I can translate for you?"

The Blue Jays have certainly remained humble as they went about their business, reaching the World Series. One win would give them their first championship since 1993.
