Devin Booker's ankle injury could be a nightmare for the Phoenix Suns' promising season

1 hour ago 2

The Phoenix Suns have been one of the season's best pleasant surprises. Most people thought the Suns would have struggled this season because they were coming off the Kevin Durant era.

Fortunately for the Suns, they found their footing this season and are now competing for the Playoffs. It has been a great season, but things might have taken a turn for the worse on Friday with Devin Booker's ankle injury.

Booker's injury could have long-term repercussions for the Suns

As the Suns' undisputed star player, Booker has been excellent this season. He has taken the brunt of the criticism for all the issues they've had in recent seasons, and he has redeemed himself.

Booker is averaging 25.3 points, four rebounds, and 6.3 assists per game this season. He is the key to the Suns' success, as he has gotten the most out of his teammates, including Dillon Brooks and Collin Gillespie.

Unfortunately for the Suns, they might have to play without Booker in the meantime. Jalen Green just returned to the active rotation, so they have another guard who can be an offensive phenom.

However, the original plan is to pair them up. Green has been injured for a long time, so Booker has been waiting for him. Now, it appears that Green will be the one waiting.

Booker rolled his ankle as he stepped on Atlanta Hawks big man Onyeka Okungwu's foot. It looked nasty, and Booker struggled to get up and walk back to the locker room to get treatment.

In the meantime, the Suns fans are anxiously waiting because they need him to be healthy. Phoenix is competing for a spot in the postseason, and this injury might lead to some bad results moving forward.
