Both the Detroit Lions and Chicago Bears were met with a rude welcome to the 2025 NFL season as both teams suffered brutal defeats to NFC North opponents. Both teams aim to rebound with a victory over another NFL North opponent today. However, the loser of the contest will drop to 0-2 with their playoff hopes statistically on life support with a 0-2 division record.
Luckily for the Bears, the contest will take place at Soldier Field in Chicago. Bears head coach Ben Johnson will face his former mentor, Dan Campbell, leaving one question to be answered: has the student become the master? Here's a look at the events taking place in the game today. Check back as the scores and summary will be updated as the game continues.

Lions vs. Bears Game Summary
The Bears and Lions both needed a fast start after Week 1, but only one team could score first. That team was the Detroit Lions as running back Jahmyr Gibbs rushed into the endzone for a six-yard touchdown on a 60-yard drive.
The Chicago Bears responded, delivering a touchdown of their own with a Caleb Williams pass to Rome Odunze for 28 yards, making the score 7-7. The two teams exchanged punts before the Lions took the lead with a touchdown on a 50 yard drive. Disaster then struck with a Bears fumble, but the Lions didn't manage to capitalize.
The Bears had a nine-yard play that was a turnover on downs in response, so back-to-back failed drives, showing plenty of problems for the Bears offense after a quality start. The Lions then missed a field goal. The Bears failed to respond as Caleb Williams threw an interception on a -8 yard drive. The Lions then methodically drove down the field 67 yards for a touchdown.
Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams responded with a 57-yard touchdown of his own, making the score 14-21.
