The Issue: Democrats’ opposition to the Iran war, despite its purpose of ensuring the free world’s safety.

Democrats are blaming President Trump in any manner possible for the Iran situation (“The War Critics’ Agenda,” Editorial, March 14).

Let’s back up to former President Barack Obama. He released billions of dollars to Iran’s evil government under the pretense they would use it to make a better life for its population. How stupid a move that was.

Now Trump is attempting to undo this stupidity, as Iran’s threat to the world has greatly magnified. Why are Democrats lashing out at him for fixing the disaster they created?

No one should be surprised the Democrats, after refusing to prioritize Americans’ safety, are now highly critical of our military mission in Iran.

If a Democrat wins the next presidential election, Iran can expect the same level of support it had with Obama.

Democrats aren’t concerned with national security. They’re only concerned with resisting Trump.

Their claims of proximate danger to America because of the war are backward; the danger was in doing nothing as theocratic lunatics continued to develop atomic bombs.

Democrats should be berating Obama — who, for no sane reason, gave the Iranian monsters $108 billion. Do you have any doubts about to whom that money was distributed? Can any of us conceive of the bloodshed and misery that money funded?

All concerns regarding this war should be directed at the Iranian mullahs and Obama, not Trump.

The Issue: Presenters, winners and host Conan O’Brien’s controversial moments at the 98th Oscars.

The Oscars ceremony continues its downward spiral (“Puhleez! get reel Oscar,” Kirsten Fleming, March 17).

You know something is wrong when the in memoriam segment turns out to be the best part of the show. Michael B. Jordan appropriately mentioned previous African-American Oscar winners, but omitted Hattie McDaniel, the first one.

Javier Bardem is a disgrace. He yelled out “Free Palestine” before presenting. It’s too bad someone else didn’t respond with “Am Yisrael Chai” — meaning “the nation of Israel lives.”

In the midst of declining TV audiences, every year Hollywood gets together for its annual celebration of self-righteous mediocrity.

There was once a day in America when Jimmy Kimmel would’ve been a garage mechanic. And Conan O’Brien has to be the least funny “comic” in the business.

I just thank God I lived to see Bob Hope and Billy Crystal.
