Lexi Thompson teed it up this week at the Grant Thornton Invitational in a group with Wyndham Clark. The duo had a fantastic start and took the lead after the opening round, but slipped down to third place after the second round. On Saturday, the players competed in the foursome format.
In the post-round press conference, Thompson and Clark talked about their game. The LPGA Tour pro talked about the second-round format and called it "difficult." She said (via Tee Scripts):
"I would say it does come down to probably this format, it's probably, the most difficult for sure. Scramble I would say is the more enjoyable one. It's definitely a little more stressful today. Yeah, it's just about being positive out there and giving your partner a look in the fairway and available shot into the green. That's what we did. We just kind of stayed patient and positive"The Grant Thornton Invitational is a three-day event and will be played in three different formats over the three days. In round 1, players competed in a scramble format, followed by alternate shot on Saturday, and then for the final round, they will play in a four-ball format.
Meanwhile, after two rounds, Lauren Coughlin and Andrew Novak took the lead in the game at 19 under. Charley Hull and Michael Brennan settled on second place at 18 under.

So we just kind of stayed patient and gave ourselves some looks."This season, Lexi Thompson has played in 13 tournaments and made the cut in nine of them. She recorded two finishes in the top 10.
