TVING released episodes 5 and 6 of Dear X on November 6, 2025. Episodes 7 and 8 will drop on the 20th, at 6:00 pm KST on TVING in South Korea. Internationally, it will release on HBO Max in select regions. The thriller K-drama centers on Baek Ah-jin (Kim Yoo-jung), who is a top-tier actress.
She survived childhood domestic abuse and learned to hide her feelings. To get by, she reads people and manipulates them. On camera, she projects warmth and generosity. Off camera, she harbors deep grudges and can turn ruthless when her goals are threatened. Dear X tracks how she uses beauty and popularity as tools to advance her career.
What’s ahead in episodes 7 & 8 of Dear X?
After Ah-jin and In-gang’s kiss, their relationship might get public inside the company in the upcoming Dear X episodes. Maybe the Hadere campaign could also depend on this couple's images. However, Re Na won’t just back off. She will operate from panic and a bruised ego after her breakup with In-gang and jealousy towards Ah-jin.
So, she will likely push her into a more reckless phase. The cop has already been exposed, so his subplot seems done. But, reporter Lim could publish something half-verified that reignites suspicion around Ah-jin’s father's death. That threat will keep circling Ah-jin’s career. Jun-seo and Jae-oh’s alliance will deepen.
They’ve positioned themselves as Ah-jin’s shield, and that means these episodes will likely push Jun-seo further into the emotional triangle with Ah-jin and In-gang. Expect a confrontation between Jun-seo and In-gang, too, maybe not a fight, but a clash of intentions. In-gang’s guilt arc is nowhere near resolved. The kiss moment shows he’s cracking open emotionally, but guilt still owns him.
Dear X episodes 5 & 6 brief recap
Dear X (Image via X/@tvingdotcom)In Dear X episode 5, In-gang subsequently ended his long-term relationship with Re Na. Longstar Entertainment CEO Mi-ri asked In-gang to postpone any public split until the Hadere campaign finishes, but he is still not on board.
Mi-ri then confronted Re Na about past misconduct towards Ah-jin and warned her that a prior DUI could threaten her career. Mi-ri’s manager confirms to Ah-jin that Mi-ri maintains career-risk files of the artists. Jun-seo has now become a book author. He crosses paths with Ah-jin at a drama shoot, where Re Na moves to cozy up to him later.
During a search for Mi-ri’s dossiers, Hyang-i secretly informed Re Na, who intercepted Ah-jin. Re Na seized the files and slapped her in front of Jun-seo. Ah-jin later revealed she expected the setup and had Hyang-i secretly film the confrontation. The slap was included in Longstar Entertainment’s year-end montage, which Mi-ri later described as staged.
At the company party, the cop (disguised as the waiter) confronts Ah-jin, stating his intent to expose her past. Meanwhile, Re Na witnesses the scene. Jae-oh later investigated the officer and extracted his phone data. He later monitored the officer’s contact with reporter Lim. Jae-oh shared the findings with Jun-seo and vowed to help Ah-jin.
In episode 6 of Dear X, In-gang’s past is revealed. He began his career as an idol, and after his bandmate Ji-hyeok fell ill from fan-sent macarons containing nuts and he was replaced. In-gang confessed to Ah-jin that he always knew about the nuts but stayed silent. It was a decision that continued to haunt him till now.
Meanwhile, Jae-oh recovered In-gang's grandmother’s diary and gave it to Ah-jin, who then bought an apartment for her manager near the grandmother’s home. Ah-jin then visited her with a rice cake. The grandmother then invited Ah-jin to In-gang's mother's memorial meal. In-gang reproached Ah-jin for attending.
However, tensions eased after he apologized and asked to meet. Ah-jin asked Jae-oh to delay him, leading Jae-oh to stage a bike accident. In-gang’s car was sabotaged, but when he finally arrived at the pavilion, Ah-jin comforted him with her scarf, and the two shared a kiss.
Currently, Dear X holds an 8.7 IMDb rating, with fans on X praising Kim Yoo-jung's acting as Baek Ah-jin.
