A former WWE champion was involved in a controversial segment at AEW Blood & Guts. Following this, he received death threats from fans.

Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler are two of the biggest heels in AEW. As heels, they know how to get a lot of heat on themselves, which is what happened at Blood & Guts. During the show, Ricky Steamboat gave a heartfelt tribute to Greensboro's wrestling legacy, only to be interrupted by FTR. The confrontation quickly turned heated as FTR put their hands on Ricky Steamboat. Luckily, Brodido came out to make the save.

While this segment was entirely kayfabe, some fans took it a bit too seriously and lashed out at Dax Harwood online. Dax posted screenshots of some of the disturbing things fans have said about him and his family. He captioned the tweet as follows:

Dax Harwood claimed Tony Khan hired Stokely Hathaway to AEW at his request

The game changer for FTR during their heel turn has been Stokely Hathaway. Stokely is great at talking on the mic and getting a lot of heat on Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler. Therefore, they make a great pair in AEW.

Speaking on Beyond The Bell podcast, Dax Harwood said that he requested Tony Khan to hire Stokely to AEW to be FTR's manager. However, they couldn't immediately start teaming up since FTR were about to turn babyface.

"Fast forward — we knew that we were wrapping things up with Tully Blanchard. I talked to Tony, and I said, ‘Hey, I think there’s this guy in NXT who’s an incredible mouthpiece. He can bump his ass off, and he’s very entertaining. I think he’d be a great gift for us, and I think we could benefit from him being our manager.’ So Tony hired him at my request, and we were supposed to immediately start teaming up together."
