AEW star Dax Harwood has taken to social media to pay an emotional tribute to a former WWE champion days after the anniversary of his passing. The latter, Mr. Brodie Lee, has faced both members of FTR in All Elite Wrestling as well as in the Stamford-based promotion.
Five years ago, on December 26, 2020, The Exalted One tragically passed away from a rare respiratory illness, pushing the entire wrestling world into collective mourning over the loss of a beloved peer and performer. Brodie's legacy is not only a significant chapter in the history of All Elite Wrestling in its infancy, it lives on still in the form of the erstwhile and current members of The Dark Order, including Lee's own son, Brodie Jr. (aka Negative One).
Personalities from AEW, not to mention several big WWE names as well, have been paying tribute to Brodie Lee recently to the mark the five year anniversary of his passing. Former WWE superstar and current All Elite Wrestling Tag Team Champion Dax Harwood has now taken to X/Twitter to share a throwback photograph featuring him alongside the erstwhile Luke Harper and Big E in what is presumably a WWE house show match from 2019. Dax The Axe also added a heartwarming note in the caption, writing:
"Feels like a lifetime ago. My friend 💕 @ThisBrodieLee," posted Harwood.Although they did not cross paths often during their shared time under the sports entertainment juggernaut, Dax and Brodie did wrestle each other in tag team action in back to back house shows. The Revival (as FTR were then known) and The Bludgeon Brothers (the duo of Erick Rowan and Luke Harper) unsuccessfully challenged The New Day for the Smackdown Tag Team Championships on three separate nights in England, Ireland and France in November, 2019.
Former WWE superstars Brodie Lee and Dax Harwood also wrestled in AEW
Months after his WWE release, Mr. Brodie Lee made his AEW debut as the leader of The Dark Order on a March, 2020 episode of Dynamite, attacking SCU's Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian. Just over two months later, FTR arrived in All Elite Wrestling themselves, saving The Young Bucks from the onslaught of The Butcher and The Blade.
Later, on a July taping of Dynamite that aired in early August, Brodie and his underlings defeated Dax Harwood, Cash Wheeler and The Elite in a massive 12-person tag bout.
