Danielle Collins recently shared an update about a 'beautiful' surprise she woke up to on Christmas Eve. It involved an incident from her chicken farm, showing once more that the former World No. 7's life is not just about tennis, but much more beyond the sport.
On Wednesday, December 24, Collins took to her Instagram Stories and shared a post featuring a picture of seven newly-laid eggs from her chicken farm. Through the in-post caption, the four-time career singles titlist revealed that her chickens had stopped laying eggs following a coyote attack that had led to the demise of two of their flock mates.
According to Danielle Collins, the fact that her chickens had laid new eggs was "God's timing" at work. The 32-year-old captioned the post:
"My girls completely stopped laying eggs in May after two of their other flock mates were killed by a coyote. I've worried about them so much since. I woke up to 7 beautiful eggs this morning. God's timing is special"

Collins and the fan prayed together, with the fan offering a prayer specifically for the current World No. 64. Moved by the experience, the American WTA star told the fan upon the conclusion of the prayer:
"Amen. Thank you so much, that was beautiful. That made my day. Thank you so much that was so meaningful. That's the nicest thing you can do for someone, offer your prayer. Thank you. Changes everything"In terms of her tennis, Danielle Collins hasn't featured in competitive action since the 2025 US Open, where she suffered a shocking first-round loss to Jaqueline Cristian. The reason behind her absence on the WTA Tour is a persistent back problem. She recently addressed the issue on Instagram, writing:
"I've been taking the last few months off to recover from the back injury I had at the end of the season."Collins is also set to miss the 2026 Australian Open as a consequence of her ongoing injury woes.
