Daniel Cormier was speaking to Josh Thomson on the latest episode of the Weighing In podcast, and one of the major talking points was the fight between Jake Paul and Anthony Joshua.
The YouTuber was knocked out by Joshua in the sixth round. Paul has been critiqued by many for his tactics in the fight against the former heavyweight champion.
Paul was seen running around and attempting takedowns on Joshua. However, he seemed to be out of his element as the fight went on and the British boxer got his bearings right.
Cormier initially praised Paul before joking that anyone would have fought Joshua if they were paid well:

“Jake Paul is a brave guy. Then I found out he got $100 million. I was thinking anybody will fight for $100 million.”The former UFC two-division champion then highlighted Paul’s attempted takedowns. He was left shocked by the wrestling that Paul brought into the fight, but he praised Joshua’s KO of the YouTuber.
“All that wrestling was crazy. I have never, in my life, seen that much wresting in boxing. Every time he would fall, you got to get up. Every time he would shoot, you got to get up…that right hand was so nasty.”Check out Daniel Cormier's take on Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua from 26:57:
Jake Paul claims he won two rounds vs. Anthony Joshua
Jake Paul might not have come out with a win against Anthony Joshua but he became the center of attention of the combat sports world for a while.
The American looked to be in decent shape early on in the fight and even got a few hits in on the former champion.
While speaking on a recent episode of the IMPAULSIVE podcast, Paul brought up what went wrong in the fight:
"Actually, I won two rounds, then he won two, then I got dropped. But yeah, I was doing good. I just think my cardio, the mental pressure of the big guy, and sparring with the big people, is different than the 10-ounce gloves. So I was feeling his power more. But it was a great experience. I learned a lot in there."He also shared that having more time to prepare for Joshua might have been better for him:
"I wish I had more than three weeks to prepare, to maybe put on some more muscle to be able to sit there and hit him. And I should have gone to altitude to train. That was my biggest mistake... I just needed to have that extra level of cardio for this, and that can only come from going to altitude."Why did you not like this content?
