Damon Hill has come up with a three-word take following the disqualification of Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri from the Las Vegas GP. The FIA has recently disqualified the duo for excessive plank wear on their respective MCL39s.

Lando Norris started the 50-lap Las Vegas Grand Prix from pole position, and Oscar Piastri, on his end, got his outing going from fifth place on the grid behind Mercedes' George Russell (P4). Starting from the front, Norris was able to salvage a second-place finish with Max Verstappen winning the race. Piastri managed to climb one place to secure P4.

However, following the announcement of the FIA regarding Norris and Piastri's disqualification, the world has reacted to it. Several top personalities in Formula 1 have had their say on it, and Damon Hill has come up with his take via Instagram stories.

"You've been planked."

With Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri both coming away with zero points from the Las Vegas Grand Prix race weekend, this has brought Max Verstappen right back into the championship picture. As things stand, Verstappen has equalled Piastri on points (366), and both of them are now 24 points behind Norris (399).

Next up on the race calendar is Round 22, the Qatar Grand Prix race weekend. After this, only the Abu Dhabi event will remain on the race calendar.

"Lack of speed, lack of performance": Lando Norris's take on Las Vegas GP before DSQ announcement

While Lando Norris has been dealt a body blow in the 2025 drivers' championship fight with the recent Las Vegas DSQ, he gave his take on his second place before the announcement. Via the post-race interview session with Formula 1, Norris felt that he lacked 'speed and performance' in comparison to Verstappen.

"Yeah, turn 1 was pretty shocking on my behalf, just breaking way too late, so, pretty silly. Yeah, I say, I'm more thankful it didn't cost me the race win today. Just lack of speed, lack of performance today was a much bigger issue." "So, of course not proud of Turn 1, but we didn't lose becaus of that. It was just because we weren't fast enough and Max did a good job. Red Bull was quick and they deserve to win."

The 2025 drivers' championship fight is all set to go right down to the last race in Abu Dhabi. Considering that only 24 points separate the top three, Lando Norris can't afford any kind of slip-ups going forward.

Riding high on the confidence of the Las Vegas GP win, Max Verstappen and even Oscar Piastri will give their all to amass the drivers' title. Verstappen already has four championships to his name, whereas Norris and Piastri are tussling for their maiden title.
