Ollie Bearman secured his best result in F1 at the Mexican GP after taking the checkered flag in fourth place. With the Briton scoring an elated result in his first full-time F1 season, the paddock was impressed with his racecraft at the recent race, including 1996 F1 champion Damon Hill.

Bearman started ninth at the Mexican GP after benefiting from Carlos Sainz's penalty that helped him earn a spot up the grid even before the race had begun. He then kept his nose clean, which led him to run P3 for a fair chunk of the race.

The Haas driver then stringed together a solid race, where he showcased stellar pace that helped him battle it out with the Mercedes duo and McLaren's Oscar Piastri. Though the chance of getting on the podium was taken away by Max Verstappen, a fourth-place finish in Haas meant that the paddock was stoked with his race result.

Subsequently, even Hill applauded Bearman on the occasion as he captioned his Instagram story:

"Making waves."

Meanwhile, Bearman gained several positions in the early part of the Mexican GP, as all hell seemingly broke loose up the road, where Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton went off track multiple times.

Ollie Bearman's start to his first full-time F1 campaign was a tough one. He was the last driver over the line at the season opener, but he has learned a lot since then, which has led to his substantial race result in Mexico.

Moreover, it was Bearman's third consecutive race where he scored points. So, reflecting on a chaotic yet solid race, the 20-year-old said (via F1's official website):

"It was a crazy race out there. I’m so happy to get so many good points for the team, we did a really fantastic job getting the car in the right window, it felt great underneath me – it was the perfect job. It’s a feel good moment also, to go side by side with Max Verstappen is a very cool feeling, he’s someone I’ve grown up watching in Formula 1. I’m so proud of this team – we finished P4 on merit – we may have got some luck to get there, but it was our speed that kept us there."

Bearman's P4 finish in Mexico helped him supercharge his points tally. He had previously only scored 20 points in the 19 race weekends, but the race at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez saw him take the count up to 32, with 12 points being awarded for a fourth-place finish.
