Real Madrid secured a 2-1 victory against Barcelona in the first Clasico of the campaign on October 26 at Santiago Bernabeu.

Kylian Mbappe opened the scoring for Los Blancos after being set up by Jude Bellingham in the 22nd minute. Fermin Lopez netted the equalizer for Barcelona from an assist by Marcus Rashford in the 38th minute.

Bellingham, then, scored Madrid's winning goal from an assist by Eder Militao in the 43rd minute.

With the blow of the final whistle that brought the eventful match to an end, things got heated on the pitch, starting with a heated confrontation following an exchange between Real Madrid's Dani Carvajal and Barcelona's Lamine Yamal.

Vinicius Junior was also seen getting involved in the post-match brawl, which appeared to have added fuel to the fire.

Following the match on Sunday, Vinicius delivered a message to Real Madrid fans, addressing the Clasico's aftermath, and said,

“My message to all Madridistas — especially those who came to Bernabeu and supported us passionately. This is how the Clásico is… you can see with your own eyes. There are many things happening on and off the pitch."

"We try to maintain balance, that's not always possible. We didn't want to offend anyone — neither the young players nor the fans. We know that when we step onto the pitch, we have to play our role, that's how it was. The win was thanks to Real fans. Hala Madrid!"

Along with the obvious importance of this historic rivalry, the win in this Clasico was especially significant for Real Madrid as they were unable to bag a victory in all four matches against Barcelona last season.

What did Real Madrid boss Xabi Alonso say about the post-match brawl?

During his post-match press conference, Real Madrid head coach Xabi Alonso shared his take on the tense situation after the game and told reporters,

"It was part of the tension of the moment. This kind of banter and scuffles have happened a lot in other Clasicos. It was the result of a lot of things going on. There's no need to be alarmed by this kind of healthy banter. And I saw it there," as per Managing Madrid.

Along with a big win against archrivals Barcelona, Real Madrid also further increased the points gap over the Catalan side in the La Liga table.

Los Blancos currently rank first in the top flight with 27 points after 10 matches and have a five-point lead over second-place Barca.

Alonso & Co. will now host Valencia in their next La Liga clash on November 1.
