Former mayoral candidate and Guardian Angels co-founder Curtis Sliwa is “sitting Shiva” for the Times Square Red Lobster, blaming the company’s all you can eat policies for the Midtown location’s demise.

“I’m sitting Shiva for the closing of the biggest Red Lobster restaurant of all, right in Times Square!” Sliwa said in an Instagram reel posted by comedian Eitan Levine and WOR710.

“41st and seven. Three floors. All the shrimp you can eat,” continued Sliwa.

“They gave away free lobsters one day. It didn’t matter. They imploded. Plus, they just closed their oldest Red Lobster of all time in Tallahassee, Florida.”

The seafood chain’s flagship Manhattan location is closing it’s doors on June 14. The restaurant blamed incessant construction at the site as a deterrent to would-be diners.

Sitting Shiva is a traditional mourning ritual in Judaism that involves staying in the home of the deceased, typically while seated.

“See all this? All the shrimp you can eat just ain’t working. Look it killed Beefsteak Charlie’s,” Sliwa continued.

“So we all need to sit Shiva. Another great institution in America has bit the dust. And right before our 250th birthday — Red Lobster, we need you in Times Square!”

Post food critic Steve Cuozzo gave the Times Square Red Lobster glowing reviews, saying that “Elitists will sneer — but despite tacky and aged decor, it’s a restaurant that the tourist-trampled Crossroads of the World’ needs.”

“Its food is a lot better than at the nearby Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. or at any of the innumerable fast-food joints in the area,” he continued.
