Current AEW champion takes a sly dig at Becky Lynch

A current champion in AEW seemingly took a dig at the former WWE Women's Champion, Becky Lynch, by quoting her phrase. The star reacted to a fan's post on social media.

The current AEW National Champion, Ricochet took a shot at Becky Lynch's famous line. Aside from his heel character on TV, The Future of Flight is also known for creating controversies on social media with his statements. This past year, Becky also played the role of an overconfident heel on the WWE TV.

The Man also claimed herself to be the best wrestler, stating that, "It's not just me saying it, Sports Illustrated says it." Recently, the popular outlet, Sports Illustrated announced its year-end pro wrestling awards for 2025. AEW nearly swept the awards including winning the 'promotion of the year' award as well.

A fan on the X social media platform declared AEW as the best promotion in the world while quoting Becky's famous line, "It's not just me saying it, Sports Illustrated says it," citing the SI awards. Ricochet took notice of the fan's post and reacted by agreeing with the Lynch-style statement:

Becky Lynch's honest thoughts on AEW

The former WWE Women's Champion, Becky Lynch shared her honest thoughts on AEW back in 2021. In an interview with Ariel Helwani, Becky said that she considers All Elite Wrestling an alternative and also said that competition is great for the wrestling business:

“I consider them an alternative. I think that’s the best way to put it. I consider them the alternative. They’re just different. Their product is different than our product. And so, we offer a different product than they do. Competition is great. It’s great for the creative because I think it drives everybody," Lynch stated.

While Becky is currently one of the top stars in the WWE, only time will tell if she will ever be seen in AEW as well.
