The Los Angeles Dodgers are looking like the best team in baseball, but they could still use a bit more help to really take them over the top as clear-cut World Series favorites.
Someone like Tarik Skubal would be a huge boon for the Dodgers, as some of their starters are struggling or banged up this season. Maybe a premier closer could help, or another outfielder or second baseman to bolster the roster in 2026.
Regardless of what this team winds up targeting, the Dodgers are likely to be buyers. Joel Reuter of Bleacher Report highlighted on prospect .813 OPS outfielder Zyhir Hope as the team's top trade chip who could land the superstar that makes the Dodgers heavy World Series favorites in pursuit of a three-peat.
Zyhir Hope is Dodgers' most likely trade chip in World Series pursuit
"The Dodgers' window of title contention is wide open, and Hope is the most likely top-tier prospect to be moved this summer in their pursuit of any superstar addition," Reuter writes.
While the Dodgers could decide to stand pat at the trade deadline, adding only minor additions to the back-end of the roster, and still wind up as the top World Series contender, a blockbuster move could ensure good odds for a three-peat.
Skubal is an obvious fit for the Dodgers, but others like Joe Ryan, Aroldis Chapman, Freddy Peralta, and Byron Buxton would also work for the Dodgers.
To land any such superstar trade target, the Dodgers will need to give up quite a lot to make a deal work. That's where Hope comes in.

He has an .813 OPS this season in 66 games, and in 979 at-bats in his minor league career, he has an .835 OPS with 38 homers and 49 stolen bases.
Trading such a premier prospect might sting, but a Hope trade wouldn't be the worst thing for the Dodgers. They still would have Josue De Paula, Eduardo Quintero, and Mike Sirota as top-tier outfield prospects.
With so many great outfield prospects, the Dodgers should look to part with one at the trade deadline to upgrade this year's roster in pursuit of a three-peat.
Rueter named Hope as the most likely trade chip from their crop of outfield prospects, and the 21-year-old being the top trade chip makes sense.
