Cristiano Ronaldo's mother, Maria Dolores, has posted on social media after her grandson, Cristiano Ronaldo Jr, made his debut for Portugal Under-16. The teenager came on for the final minutes of their Federation Cup Tournament win over Turkey.

Cristiano Jr made his debut for the Under-15 side earlier this year and also scored twice in their 3-2 win over Croatia. He was called up for the Under-16 side this month and has now made his debut off the bench.

Portugal won 2-0 over hosts Turkey in their opening game, and have two matches left in the leg against Wales and England.

Dolores was proud of her grandson after he made his debut and posted a photo with the caption "Forca Portugal U16"

Ronaldo spoke about his son earlier this year, revealing that he would not force the teenager to become a footballer. The Al-Nassr captain wants him to make the decision on his own and said he is ready to support him in any career.

He said on Georgina Rodriguez's new Netflix series 'I Am Georgina' (via The Sun):

"Only time will tell. I will never pressure him. He will do what he wants. Also, what I want the most for Cristianito and everyone else is that they're happy and that they choose what they want. I will support in any way."

Cristiano Ronaldo Jr plays for the Al-Nassr academy, where his father leads the first team.

Cristiano Ronaldo wants to play with his son before retiring, claims former teammate

Cristiano Ronaldo's former Manchester United teammate, Danny Simpson, has claimed that the Al-Nassr forward will not retire before playing with his son, Cristiano Ronaldo Jr. He believes that the dream, along with the desire to score 1000 goals, will keep the Portuguese superstar going and told GOAL:

“I don’t think you can write him off. As long as he is scoring goals, as long as he doesn’t get any injuries, then it wouldn't surprise me because it’s him. I know he wants 1,000 goals. And I think he wants to play with his son.” “Playing with your son, that’s probably one of the biggest targets that you can go for once you have won everything. Sharing a pitch with your son must be some feeling. You look at those targets. He does set targets and you look at those - 1,000 goals and play with his son - does he do those and think ‘right, I’ve done it all now’? I don’t know where you go after that. He’s just a phenomenal person, player. What he’s done for the game, it’s unbelievable.”

During an interview with Mr Beast, Cristiano Ronaldo spoke about playing with his son, admitting he would like to do so but was not sure he had enough time left in his career.
