Cowboys' QB Dak Prescott surpasses Tony Romo on Dallas franchise record list

In an epic overtime win, Dak Prescott moved himself up the ranks in Dallas Cowboys history.

He now ranks second in the history of the storied franchise in pass completions.

Prescott passed Tony Romo on Sunday and now resides behind just Troy Aikman on the all-time list.

In the 40-37 win, Prescott was 38-for-52 for 361 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

It gives Prescott a career total of 2,839 completions.

He entered the day 28 behind Romo, who had 2,829 completions in his career.

Prescott is now only chasing Aikman, who had 2,898 completions in his career.

For those wondering, fourth place is Danny White (1,761) and fifth place is Roger Staubach (1,685).

Prescott now needs 60 completions to surpass Aikman. That should happen within a couple games.

Prescott is already the leader in completion percentage among Cowboys QBs to play at least 10 games, at 66.6%.

The current starter is also second in touchdown passes for Dallas, with 215, behind just Romo's 248. Aikman threw 165 touchdowns as Emmitt Smith capped off so many of those drives with scores.

Prescott also has a lower interception percentage than either Romo or Aikman.

Ironically, Prescott has a near-identical won-loss record to Romo. The current CBS commentator was 78-49 as the Cowboys' starter, while Prescott is currently 77-47. Aikman had a 94-71 mark.

Prescott will go down as one of the Cowboys' best quarterbacks. And maybe Sunday's win can jumpstart Dallas toward a special season.
