Country music star Todd Snider abruptly canceled a nationwide tour after he was allegedly violently assaulted outside his Utah hotel over the weekend — but the saga has since taken a bizarre twist after he ended up in cuffs.
The Nashville-based musician, 59, was hospitalized late Sunday after claiming he was attacked outside the hotel in Salt Lake City right before the second show on his “High, Lonesome and Then Some” tour.
“Ahead of Todd Snider’s show in Salt Lake City, Todd sustained severe injuries as the victim of a violent assault,” his team said in a statement on Monday.

The exact nature of the alleged assault wasn’t immediately clear, and his team didn’t offer up any further details.
Some hours after the alleged assault, Snider ended up being arrested himself after apparently causing a disturbance at the Holy Cross Hospital where he was being treated, Fox13 reported.
The Nashville-based musician canceled the rest of his tour in the wake of the alleged attack. Instagram/@toddsniderliveSnider allegedly started yelling and cursing at staff after they discharged him before he was apparently ready, cops said.
After he was ordered to leave and not return, the singer allegedly threatened an employee, saying he was going to “kick your ass.”
He is facing charges of disorderly conduct, criminal trespassing and threatening violence.
Snider had shows booked in for Phoenix on Monday, Los Angeles on Tuesday and San Francisco on Wednesday.
His team has yet to address his arrest.
