Edmonton Oilers forward Adam Henrique was honoured at Rogers Place on Thursday night as the team celebrated his 1,000th NHL game milestone.
Henrique officially reached the 1,000-game mark earlier in the week and the Oilers recognized the achievement with a pre-game ceremony attended by his wife and children. The forward was presented with commemorative gifts and a tribute video chronicling his career highlights before joining his family on the blue carpet.
Following the on-ice ceremony, Oilers captain Connor McDavid’s wife Lauren Kyle marked the moment with a celebratory display shared to Instagram. She posted an image of a surprise party setup featuring giant blue “1000” balloons, orange and navy decor and a custom cake in team colours.
“1000!!! 💙🧡” she captioned the story tagging Adam’s wife Lauren Henrique.Other Oilers partners also joined in online. Max Jones’ wife Alexa shared a photo of the Henrique family on the ice with the message:

Adam Henrique dubs 1000-NHL game milestone ‘special’
Earlier last week, the 34-year-old cracked a smile when asked about reaching his 1000-game in the league. He admitted that the milestone had taken on extra meaning recently.
When asked about what the number represents, he explained that reaching career touchpoints like this feels especially rewarding for both him and his family.
“That’s why I love playing the game. When all the family comes to visit, everybody’s together,” Henrique said. “It’s always a bit hectic and chaotic with our family, but that’s all part of the fun. We’ve had a lot of memories along the way and still plenty more to come.”He also admitted that his perspective has changed over time. Early in his career he was just focused on earning one NHL game and now he sees how meaningful they are and appreciates them even more.
“Early in your career, you just want to play one game. You’re not thinking about a thousand that early on,” he said. “You’re just trying to establish yourself as an NHL everyday player. You have everybody from the superstars to the fourth-line players that make careers out of it and get to a thousand games. So I think it’s a pretty special milestone.”Henrique had signed a two-year, $6 million extension in July and has settled into a key depth-centre role on the team.
