An absent WWE star on a short hiatus is set to return next week on television. The multi-time champion has been absent since the September 29 episode of RAW.

Xavier Woods was last seen getting hit by a flying clothesline by LA Knight on RAW during The Megastar's match against Kofi Kingston. Woods would troll Knight on social media by alluding to his old ring name, Max Dupri.

The former King of the Ring has been on vacation since his last appearance, visiting Italy and signing a new contract with WWE. He was still active on social media, criticizing RAW general manager Adam Pearce.

In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Xavier Woods announced that he's returning next week. It will likely be on RAW since The New Day are still assigned to the brand and are angling for a chance to reclaim the World Tag Team Championships, which are currently held by AJ Styles and Dragon Lee.

"Well rested. Melinated and moisturized. @AJStylesOrg & @dragonlee95 see you next week.... #ThankGodForTheNewDay," Woods tweeted.

The New Day last held the World Tag Team Championship on the June 30 episode of RAW, when they dropped it to Finn Balor and JD McDonagh of the Judgment Day.

Xavier Woods signed a new WWE contract earlier this month

After months of speculation, Xavier Woods signed a new contract with WWE earlier this month. Fightful Select reported that Woods' negotiations nearly went to the wire before the two sides agreed on a new deal.

The 39-year-old star has been with the company since 2010, making his main roster debut three years later. He initially teamed up with R-Truth before founding the New Day with Kofi Kingston and Big E.

They became one of the greatest stables in history, winning a total of 13 tag team titles. Big E and Kingston also became WWE Champions during their time with the group, while Woods won the 2021 King of the Ring tournament.
