Smiling contemporary businesswoman looking at camera while standing in office

A group of four managers who all manage a single employee.

My workplace has hired another “manager” that is wholly incompetent

I now have FIVE managers. And I'm the only one that actually creates any revenue.

They also get extremely emotional any time you challenge their judgement and hate that I do not just go along with their fakery.

I have to wonder what this guy counts as "fakery." A lot of people consider any professional socialization to be "fake." Just because you don't talk to your coworkers the same way that you talk to your close friends doesn't mean that you're being fake with your coworkers: it's just a different kind of relationship

They are all women, and it is absolutely hilarious how little work actually gets done. (nothing against women but this is just so painful and is like being in high school)

There is only one of them who is any good and actually listens to what you are saying.

One of them has already been on sick leave twice in the space of 6 months. And the other latest new woman just gets angry any time you ask her to do something.

Our meetings are basically just nothing to do with work and have just become a chat where they just speak about themselves and how great their weekends are.

Is it so wrong to tell the people you spend five days a week with about your weekend?

The workplace worked and functioned so much better when we had zero managers and were just allowed to do our work without all the fake made up bulls.....

So I've decided to stop helping them and the ship is starting to sink very quickly. In the space of a few weeks that I stopped being helpful, everything is beginning to unravel.

I've just said "That's above my pay grade" anytime somebody has asked me to fix something they have broken. And they're like "Oh, well what do I do now?"

I don't know. You tell me. You're the so called "experts" and "geniuses" that everyone in the organisation has been hyping up before you came onboard.

I then get met with loads of panicked phone calls because I'm the only one that knows our systems. I just respond with "You are management not me"

They're having a total meltdown and it is absolutely beautiful to watch. Why do companies keep employing these people?

via u/bobcat734

8euztnrqvn Why do companies keep doing this? Because the upper management and C-suite don't actually know what they are doing or what is going on either. They all just bulls their way through and hope it goes well, so when things don't go so well they just add another bullshitter who doesn't know what to do but is good at bullshitting. They speak the same language and know how to lick each others bt, so they instantly like each other.

bobcat734 OP It's also quite telling that they're all exactly the same type of woman. The higher ups have basically hired the same clone of a person 5 times in a row. It's honestly total h I to work here. They do the "if you need anything drop me a line" So you do, and then your slack message just sits unread for 4 days. Like are these people doing all day?

fakesharon Why are you bringing up that one of them took sick leave twice in 6 months as though that is a character flaw? Would you rather have her come in to work sick and get you sick, or are you mad that she got sick in the first place?
