The Washington Commanders aren't sitting on their hands as free agency begins, with general manager Adam Peters going all out on defense.
With Washington being a big player, the franchise had already signed Odafe Oweh, Tim Settle, and Amik Robertson to bolster the defense.
But it appears Peters and Dan Quinn aren't done.
NFL insider Jordan Schultz has reported the Commanders have signed former Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Leo Chenal to a three-year, $24.75 million deal.
It is a big move for the Commanders as the defensive splurge continues.

Commanders going big in free agency
Given the offensive needs, it is a little odd that the Commanders appear to be going all-in on defense in free agency.
Of course, the franchise could attack the offense via the draft, but there is a clear path Washington wants to take, and it is getting good, quality starting players.
The defense struggled last season, as did the offense, but with Jayden Daniels returning, maybe the thinking here is that the defense can hold teams to low-scoring games, thus giving the offense a better chance to put up enough to win.
Still, more offensive weapons are needed, but in the meantime, the defensive overhaul in Washington continues.
