Bills, Maxx Crosby old rumor just became fresh again with shocking news

1 hour ago 3

The Buffalo Bills were surprisingly interested in Maxx Crosby earlier this offseason, but that seemed to pass them by.

Crosby was part of an agreed-upon trade to send him from the Las Vegas Raiders to the Baltimore Ravens for two first-round picks. Until Tuesday night.

The Ravens pulled out of the trade, seemingly for medical reasons.

That could make Crosby a tougher sell to another team. Or it could lower his cost.

If the cost is lower, that could be key for the Bills, who apparently couldn't match that Ravens offer.

Sports Illustrated's national NFL writer, Albert Breer, had named the Bills among the teams in the mix for the pass rusher.

"With the Bills, BearsCowboys and Ravens among those lined up as the league descended on Indianapolis, the Raiders had leverage to drive the price up," Breer wrote.

“A dividing line for the Raiders was where the picks being discussed landed in the first round,” Breer wrote. “The Cowboys held the 12th pick, while the Ravens had the 14th selection. And it led to teams bowing out. The Bills were the most prominent example, holding the 26th pick, which was 500 points on the Jimmy Johnson draft chart, less valuable than Dallas’s pick, and 400 points less valuable than Baltimore’s pick… That meant Buffalo would essentially have to add a second-round pick to whatever Dallas or Baltimore offered, which is why, in the end, the Bills bowed out of the bidding.”

How about now? Maybe Buffalo has exactly what it'll take.

The Bills were actually linked to free agent Trey Hendrickson, too. They clearly want a pass rusher.

Now, they might be in the mix again.
