The Washington Commanders traded for Deebo Samuel a year ago from the San Francisco 49ers.
While Samuel wasn't bad, the Commanders' 2025 season as a whole was a bummer, and now Samuel is a free agent, seemingly unlikely to return.
But as lots of free agent deals get reported, there's really been nothing rumored about Samuel. It's not clear where he might end up.
Samuel, according to Spotrac, has a lot of value. The contract website shared that Samuel has a market value of $15.8 million, which ranks fifth of any remaining free agent, and second among wide receivers behind just Juaun Jennings.
That might not play out exactly as the list expects, though. It has Packers free agent Romeo Doubs worth more than $3 million less than Samuel, but the younger Doubs will almost certainly get a bigger contract than Samuel.

Deebo turned 30 years old in January, and he plays a fascinating style that isn't guaranteed to work in every offense.
Still, Samuel can make plays when given the chance.
In 2025, even in a sputtering Washington offense, Samuel had 72 catches in 16 games. Those went for 727 yards and five touchdowns. He also ran the ball 17 times for 75 yards and an additional touchdown.
Samuel had spent his first six NFL seasons with the 49ers before getting sent to the Commanders. Now, he's probably looking at another new team to play for.
Even if Samuel doesn't get that full market value, he'll likely get a decent payday to remain a playmaker for one team that will likely be glad to have him
