Colts schedule release video controversy: Why Indianapolis deleted controversial post involving Tyreek Hill

3 hours ago 1

The NFL's annual schedule announcement has become a showcase for social media teams across the league, with reveal videos becoming more elaborate by the year.

Some more classics were released Wednesday night, from the Chargers' Minecraft-themed video to the Jaguars' video featuring viral sensation Ashton Hall. One video only saw the light of day for less than two hours.

The Colts deleted their schedule release video not long after the announcement was made, leading many to speculate what went wrong.

Here's what you need to know about the Colts' schedule reveal video controversy.

Colts schedule release video controversy, explained

The Colts weren't the only team to produce a Minecraft-themed video, but they initially seemed to do a nice job with theirs. The two-minute, 40-second clip poked fun at Indianapolis' opponents for the 2025 season, going week-by-week with each game.

Less than two hours after posting it, however, the Colts deleted their schedule release video.

It's not uncommon at all for teams to find ways to mock their opponents in these videos — the Chargers' highly-touted video from 2024 had a field day with Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker — but some fans took issue with the Colts' depiction of Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill.

To reveal the Dolphins as their Week 1 opponent, the Colts concocted a clip of the Coast Guard turning on its siren and pulling up behind a Minecraft-style dolphin labeled "Hill" with a No. 10 jersey.

Hill was controversially detained by police prior to the Dolphins' season-opener in 2024, at one point getting pulled to the ground by police. He wasn't arrested, though Hill does have an arrest on his record from his time at Oklahoma State.

The dolphin in the Colts' video also wasn't arrested, but that didn't stop some from finding it distasteful. Here's the Colts' full schedule release video:

The Colts' video also depicts Patrick Mahomes as a frog and recreates the Starbucks fight between insiders Ian Rapoport and Jordan Schultz, so Hill was far from the only target.

Indianapolis will hope its season goes smoother than its schedule announcement, but with Anthony Richardson and Daniel Jones set to compete for the starting quarterback role, that might be difficult.
