Canada continues to prove why it's a powerhouse in the hockey realm. Three games into the 2025 World Championships, and the team has three wins.
Across those outings, Canada has scored 16 goals while allowing just one for the best goal differential through May 13. Only Germany rivaled with an 11-goal differential.
Canada is coming off a 5-0 win against France as a part of its Group A play. Up next is Austria, which has two losses and one overtime win. The victory came against Slovakia in a penalty shootout.
This is expected to be a difficult matchup for Austria, as the team has just two points in group play thus far. The next round isn't finalized until May 20, but Austria has a lot of ground to make up in order to reach the knockout stage.
Austria has allowed eight goals, while scoring just six in three games thus far. It'll be a challenge against Canada, the tournament's top team.
