During his media availability on Wednesday, Rivers commented on how his children would react to his return to the field:
“I think my younger children are excited because they don’t remember dad playing. My older girls are really excited. Now all of a sudden they’re grown adults and married and they remember being 16 years old going to the ballgames.”He added:
“My wife’s been my biggest fan the whole time I’ve played. She’s nervous about the physical aspect of it, as you would expect any wife to be.”Troy Aikman thinks Cowboys are better than Eagles entering Week 15
Back on the subject of his former team, Troy Aikman has hope for the Dallas Cowboys after a mini-resurgence.
After a 3-5-1 start, America's Team went on a three-win streak after the bye, including a comeback from 21-0 down against the Philadelphia Eagles and a standout 31-28 decision over the Kansas City Chiefs. It marked the first time both participants in the previous season's Super Bowl had lost to the same team within a week.
Their momentum, however, ended with a 44-30 loss at the Detroit Lions in Week 14. Nevertheless, Aikman thinks they are still better than their bitterest divisional rivals.
While appearing on Sportsradio 96.7/FM 1310 The Ticket's "The Musers", he said:
"I really don’t think it’s close, quite honestly. As far as how they are playing relative to [the Eagles]. And not just the way they’re playing, but also the vibe or the energy you get from the team relative to what’s happening in Philadelphia."Nevertheless, he was in no delusion about the Cowboys' playoff chances:
"Anything can happen. But right now, as you know, it’s a long shot for Dallas to get in."He also shared some thoughts on the dysfunction surrounding the Eagles organization:
"I mean, it’s just kind of mind-blowing what’s happening there, that team just doesn’t seem like a team that really enjoys playing together? And it doesn’t seem like the first year we’ve said that. So I’m not sure exactly what’s happening there."The Cowboys will look to rebound against the Minnesota Vikings on on Sunday. Kickoff is at 7:20 pm CT on NBC.
