Deion Sanders shared a message about patience and faith on X, mirroring the moment his son, Shedeur Sanders, is facing with the Cleveland Browns.

The post on Thursday urged followers to lean on strength greater than their own.

"Those that await on the lord shall renew their strength! Who are u waiting on? Is that source powerful enough to renew you? You must connect to something that's bigger stronger & consistent than u. The Lord is my shepherd," Sanders tweeted.

Shedeur's progress in Cleveland has stalled as Browns coach Kevin Stefanski decided to keep Dillon Gabriel in the starting role.

The former Colorado star fell to the fifth round in April’s draft and began the season as Cleveland’s third option behind Gabriel and Joe Flacco. A back injury before Week 8 delayed any chance of competing, while the Browns turned to practice-squad addition Bailey Zappe to back up the starter.

Despite a 2-6 record, Cleveland hasn’t shifted course at quarterback. Dillon Gabriel has thrown for 702 yards with five touchdowns and two interceptions across four starts. However, the offense continues to sputter at under five yards per attempt.

Cleveland.com reporter Ashley Bastock noted this week that the team’s plan could soon be tested again. Bailey Zappe was elevated recently, and Deshaun Watson may be close to opening his practice window after months on the physically unable to perform list.

Watson’s production since the trade, a 9-10 record and 19 touchdown passes, hasn’t matched the team’s $230 million commitment to him.

Gabriel’s performance hasn’t been convincing that he’s the long-term answer. His league-worst efficiency metrics and limited downfield attempts have frustrated fans and teammates alike. This is especially with playmakers such as Jerry Jeudy, Quinshon Judkins and David Njoku available.

Meanwhile, Shedeur Sanders, has already proven his potential. He engineered one of college football’s sharpest turnarounds in Colorado, taking the Buffaloes from a single win to a nine-win campaign. It featured a 74% completion rate and more than 4,000 passing yards.
