CM Punk makes huge promise to John Cena after WWE retirement

CM Punk was one of the greatest rivals in the legendary career of John Cena. Following his final match at Saturday Night's Main Event, a lot of legends came out to pay their respect to the Cenation leader. Both the World Champions CM Punk and Cody Rhodes also came out to serenade Cena. While talking to him in the ring, Punk made a huge promise to his former rival.

In the final match of Saturday Night's Main Event, Gunther defeated John Cena by making him tapout to the sleeper hold to end his iconic in-ring career. Following the match, Cena kissed the mat and removed his shoes to leave them in the ring. The majority of the WWE locker room came out to the ring to celebrate Cena's retirement along with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon.

Cody Rhodes and Punk also came out with their Championship belts and put them on Cena's shoulder. While putting his Championship on the 17-time World Champion, the Best in the World made a huge promise. He told Cena that they're only passing his legacy forward, promising to continue to wrestle with Cena's ideals now that his in-ring career is over.

Fans around the globe are emotional following the conclusion of Cena's retirement match. It will be interesting to see what's next for Gunther on Monday Night RAW.
