Chris Jericho tipped for a new WWE role by legend if he returns to the promotion

A WWE legend has just suggested a potential new role for Chris Jericho should he return to the company. He mentioned how this was based on the reputation he had built in his decades-long career.

Jericho is currently on hiatus from AEW, and it appears this will continue until his contract with the promotion expires at the end of 2025. This has fueled rumors and speculation that he could leave and return to WWE after eight years.

During his appearance on TMZ's Inside The Ring, Mark Henry addressed Chris Jericho's potential return to the company. He claimed that upon his return, they should give him a major role in the creative department. Henry explained how they would value his insights.

“Chris Jericho should be a high up at WWE creative. He’s probably the most versatile and innovative guy that has wrestled in the last 20 years. He’s recreated himself so many times and made so much money that’s it’s ridiculous. People respect him and they value his opinion."

He mentioned how he would be a great fit backstage as he had a great mind for the business. The WWE Hall of Famer believed that they should go after him and give him an offer he can't refuse, as he would be great for the company.

"Chris could walk right into the WWE writers room and fit right in because he’s not a tyrant. He’s gonna ask you the question, ‘Well, why would he do that? I think that I can do this and still get away with this.’ Chris will dissect stuff and make stuff great. That’s what he’s done his whole career. Not just for himself but for others. Tony Khan wants Chris Jericho to retire in AEW

There has been no indication of what the future holds for Chris Jericho, but it seems that Tony Khan is looking into the future, as he wants him to retire in AEW.

While speaking to Adam's Apple NYC, Khan talked about Jericho's time with the company and mentioned how, once he plans on retiring, he hopes to be able to book his final match. He clarified how it didn't seem as if he was near this point, but this was just something he had thought about.

“We love having Chris in AEW, and I would say that absolutely, I would love it if Chris’ final matches eventually — whenever Chris someday would want to hang it up — were in AEW. But I also don't think Chris is really near that point. He's had a great run with us. He continues to be a big part of AEW, and I love Chris. In and out of the ring.” [H/T WrestlePurists on X]

The ball is now in the hands of Chris Jericho, and it will be all up to him to decide on his future. Seeing as he is in the latter part of his career, wherever he heads next may be where he stays till retirement. Will it be WWE or AEW?
