Chris Jericho's AEW status continues to be a matter of conjecture as the veteran remained absent from Worlds End 2025. The multi-time former World Champion has now shared a seemingly very significant remark regarding his rumored WWE return.

For many months now, speculations have been making the rounds suggesting that Chris Jericho's time in All Elite Wrestling could be coming to an end. The Learning Tree has been missing from the company's programming since last April, and could be reportedly offered a retirement run in WWE. The star has been sharing throwbacks to his time in the sports entertainment juggernaut for a while now, seemingly indicating that he could be headed back to his old stomping grounds after his current deal expires at the end of the year.

This Saturday, while AEW hosted the final pay-per-view of its calendar year, Worlds End 2025, Jericho appeared in a YouTube special, Christmas Dinner With The Winnipeggers. Responding to a fan voicing their hope that he will be returning to WWE, Y2J seemingly refused to dismiss the possibility, stating:

"You never know. You never know.” [H/T - Fightful]

Recent reports claim that Jericho has not factored into the Tony Khan-led company's creative plans as of late.

A WWE legend thinks Chris Jericho is done with AEW

On a recent edition of The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy, WWE and TNA legend Matt Hardy shared his two cents on Chris Jericho's All Elite Wrestling status. The Broken One argued that the inaugural All Elite Wrestling Men's World Champion has already achieved everything that he is capable of in the promotion, stating:

"I almost think it's one of those things where I just think the AEW fanbase has had their share of Chris Jericho in many ways, and I think creatively he's done pretty much everything he can do there. I mean, unless they want to put him back into the main event mix, but I don't think the fanbase would be up for that, even though they could probably make that work in some capacity," he said. It remains to be seen if Jericho will make his WWE comeback next year during the Men's Royal Rumble match.
