The Best Friends Forever Timed Research in Pokemon GO is available to trainers from Monday, December 15, at 10 am local time to Monday, December 29, 2025, at 8 pm local time. The rewards for completing the tasks include a Scatterbug encounter, Stardust, XP, and more. Pokemon GO recently increased the highest Friendship Level between trainers from Best Friends to Forever Friends.

• Make a new friend - 1000x Stardust
• Rewards: 10x Scatterbug Sticker

Best Friends Forever Timed Research - Step 2 of 4

• Send five gifts with stickers - 5000 XP
• Open five gifts - 5000 XP
• Catch one Scatterbug - 2x Razz Berry
• Rewards: 25x Scatterbug Candy, 10x Poke Ball

Best Friends Forever Timed Research - Step 3 of 4

• Earn 40000 Stardust - 5000 XP
• Trade a Pokemon - 5000 XP
• Rewards: 2x Rare Candy, 2x Golden Razz Berry

Best Friends Forever Timed Research - Step 4 of 4

• Send a gift on five different days - 664 XP
• Rewards: 664x Stardust, Scatterbug encounter

This Timed Research questline needs to be completed and rewards redeemed by Sunday, January 4, 2026, at 8 pm local time. It's also been confirmed that the Scatterbug you encounter from this questline does not depend on your region and is random in nature.
