The Chiefs got a star-like showing from an unusual source during their duel with the Raiders in Week 4. On a roster filled with luminaries like Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and Kenneth Walker, there might have not been a more valuable player to Kansas City's efforts than Tyquan Thornton.
The sixth-year wide receiver recorded five catches for 111 yards and two touchdowns, proving a thorn to Las Vegas' unbeaten secondary.
It was the final of Thornton's grabs that proved the most eye-catching — albeit for all the wrong reasons. Here's what you need to know about the pass-catcher's gruesome ankle injury, an issue that only came to view as Thornton attempted to celebrate after an impressive catch.

Tyquan Thornton stands up to celebrate first down despite gruesome injury
Thornton enjoyed the best performance of his professional career on Sunday, corralling two touchdowns while powering Kansas City's receiver ranks.
For a moment, he though he found a third. Thornton danced down the field after plucking a deft Patrick Mahomes effort out of the sky, racing 55 yards before being dragged down by Raiders rookie Treydan Stukes.
Stukes appeared to cut Thornton down with a hip-drop tackle. The Chiefs pass-catcher didn't look too bothered, leaping up to cap off his impressive grab with his signature celebration.
It was only when he got up that he realized that he was the victim of a gruesome injury. Thornton's foot was pointed in the wrong direction as a result of Stukes' tackle. He crumbled to the ground after realizing the nature of his injury.
