Chiefs solve biggest need in latest mock draft

The Kansas City Chiefs will enter the offseason knowing that they have plenty of issues with their current roster.

Now, you can't plug all the holes in one offseason, so some positions require urgent attention over others.

That begs the question: Where do the Chiefs start?

For CBS Sports' Ryan Wilson, in his latest mock draft, he has Kansas City taking Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love with the No.9 pick.

"Love has legit track speed and high-end acceleration," Wilson writes. "He can stop on a dime and redirect with rare change-of-direction ability, while playing with good contact balance and the footwork to jump-cut to avoid defenders before hitting the crease."

Is RB Chiefs' biggest need?

With Isiah Pacheco and Kareem Hunt, you can certainly make that case.

The Chiefs have lacked any real explosion out of the backfield for the past couple of years, with Pacheco and Hunt being physical, power runners instead of offering a lightning-quick strike.

Love gives the Chiefs that.

Plus, he gives a ton of production, with 2,497 rushing yards and 35 rushing touchdowns in his last two college seasons.

The Chiefs averaged just 108 rush yards per game in 2025. Mahomes needs someone he can lean on in the run game.

And that might just be Love.
