The Kansas City Chiefs' 2025 season was one where we finally saw the NFL's apex predator have an off year.
After being in at least the AFC Championship game every year since Patrick Mahomes has been the starter, Kansas City stumbled to a 6-11 record and no playoffs.
About time the Chiefs let someone else play, right?
Now, the focus turns to 2026 and what the Chiefs could be.
And despite Mahomes' ACL injury and the several roster questions, for CBS Sports' R.J. White, in his win projection totals piece, he has the Chiefs at 10.5, level with the Los Angeles Chargers.

Chiefs expected for quick rebound
In truth, most likely expect the Chiefs to turn things around rather quickly. After all, we don't think a Mahomes-led team will struggle in back-to-back years.
But 10.5 wins means the Chiefs are once again in the Super Bowl conversation, and will likely be AFC West champs again.
So, one season to recalibrate, and the Chiefs are back with a vengeance.
Of course, this is before free agency and the draft, so there's still a lot to play out, but it appears many aren't selling their Chiefs stock...yet.
