While Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce remains undecided about his NFL future beyond the current campaign, at least one other Chiefs player really hopes that Kelce comes back for one more season.
Following Kansas City’s 20-13 loss to the Denver Broncos on Christmas Day, Chiefs star defensive tackle Chris Jones pleaded for Kelce to run it back one more time.
"We've been through so much together," Jones said. "Just one more [season]. Just one more."
Kelce has been noncommittal about his future beyond the present campaign, when his contract ends, though he clearly still has some gas left in the tank. On the season, Kelce has caught 73 passes for 839 yards and five touchdowns, despite playing the last two games with a backup quarterback.

Chiefs coach Andy Reid recently praised Kelce, 36, for the way he played this season. Like Jones, Reid certainly sounded like a guy who would be happy to have the star tight end back last season.
"I thought he's had a heck of a year," Reid said of Kelce. "I thought he played well, great leadership, obviously, and I thought it was a step up even from what he [showed] last year. He made that a point this offseason and really focused in, coming in great shape. It's helped him throughout the year. He's been able to maintain that."
We won’t have to wait long for Kelce’s decision either way, as he said he plans to make it early in the offseason out of courtesy for the Chiefs. Unfortunately for Kelce, since the Chiefs were eliminated from playoff contention for the first time since 2014, he’ll have to make his choice earlier than he would have hoped.
Just like Kansas City fans everywhere, Jones and the rest of the Chiefs players will be waiting with bated breath for Kelce’s decision.
